For their sake. Don't waste time.

Why is it so difficult for people to make changes that could save lives?

What are you waiting for?

It's just common sense

I'm not a psychologist nor do I have any specialized education in any of the areas discussed on this site. I'm a college student giving you information on simple subjects I feel need to be addressed. The most amazing thing is that these problems have relatively simple solutions that involve not much more than common sense and the courage to act.

These problems are preventable! They don't ever have to occur; and if it can't be cured 100%, than we can at least bring it down to a controllable level.

True problems

I've been through a lot of these experiences. I can understand what teenagers are going through. The assumptions on how some adults think the way teenagers are need to stop. If you're wondering what's going on with our kids—well, you just have to ask them, and this is exactly what I did.

My topics were decided upon by talking to teenagers and professionals willing to help me on such a project. This topic was not well received by a number of people I contacted, which goes to show a denial in the problem and unwillingness to improve our youth.

What will it take?

These are common problems going on regardless upon belief and wishes. It's not going to go away by turning your shoulder and trying to feel comfortable by ignoring it. I'll be the first to admit it—these issues are uncomfortable, but it's just going to get worse if we don't act now.

I would be ashamed to just sit here and pretend that lives are not being destroyed, and even lost, due to something that can easily be improved upon.

It's really at your control. Are you going to be PROACTIVE, or are you going to stand by the “wait and see” attitude and assume nothing terrible can happen to your child?

It's time to remove the blindfold, erase the denial, and act now.
